Microsoft is gearing up to kick Windows Live Messenger 2011 up a notch with the promise that a new version of the instant messaging client will be made available for download in just a few days.

The plan is to offer the Windows Live Messenger 2011 update concomitantly with a refresh for the entire Windows Live Essentials 2011 suite of applications.

According to information from the software giant, the focus of the update is on improving user experience with the latest iteration of the IM client. Existing users are bound to notice enhancements in terms of speed, as well as in the quality of the services associated with the app.

By the end of the week, users worldwide will be able to download and make the jump to Windows Live Messenger 2011 Build 15.4.3538.0513.

“We fixed a couple of stability issues and made various changes for improved voice and video quality. We fixed an issue that was causing sound to be lost after upgrading, and we improved performance when displaying the MSN Today page in the main window,” revealed Arthur de Haan, Windows Live Test and Service Engineering.

The new updated Windows Live Messenger 2011 will be live on the official website for Windows Live Essentials 2011, with the Redmond company also promising that the bits will be served through the Microsoft Download Center.

At the same time, per the company’s tradition with Windows Live refreshes, Build 15.4.3538.0513 will be packaged and delivered as an update to existing Windows Live Messenger 2011 customers.

Microsoft hasn’t offered a specific availability deadline for New Windows Live Messenger 2011 Build 15.4.3538.0513, but users should keep their eyes on this space and I’ll make sure to provide an update when the download goes live.
