Today, Microsoft discussed some of the latest advancements it made in the cloud market at the TechEd North America 2012 conference, and presented new products, features and services that are meant to deliver a better experience to customers and developers alike.

Among them, we can count the availability of a new version of Windows Intune, the cloud-powered solution that the Redmond-based software giant has released to offer PC and mobile device management and security.

The latest version of the tool was made available for download today, and is available as a free trial for all those who haven’t had the chance to take it for a spin before.

The new release brings along a variety of management and security benefits, while also adding people centric capabilities and upgrade rights to the latest version of Windows.

The 30-day trial only includes the cloud service, and can be used on up to 25 computers. However, it does require for each computer to run under a qualifying Windows professional license or higher.

Along with the new flavor of Windows Intune, the software company announced the availability of a public preview of Microsoft Team Foundation Service.

This is an application lifecycle management tool that is hosted on Windows Azure and that is meant to streamline and accelerate the development and deployment of applications.

Specific info on what Microsoft Team Foundation Service is all about and what features and capabilities it has to offer to developers can be found on Microsoft’s website.

These two releases are accompanied by the availability of a second Community Technology Preview (CTP) for System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1), which is set to become available for download as soon as next week.

Additionally, the Redmond-based company unveiled that Microsoft LightSwitch, which is being offered as a development tool for fast building of applications, will offer HTML5 integration moving forth, so that developers could target all platforms that support the technology when using it.
