Windows 9 preview is almost here and Microsoft is expected to share full details on the new operating system in just a few hours, but we already know quite a lot about the new OS thanks to leaked screenshots that have reached the web in the past few weeks.

A new batch of photos have gotten published online today by WinFuture, revealing new feedback options that will be implemented in the upcoming operating system and confirming that Microsoft wants to make the preview version all about consumer feedback.

We’ve already heard that Windows 9 preview will come with several feedback forms to help users send data to Microsoft with minimum effort, and today’s screenshots come to present some of these features available across the operating system.

At this point, not much is known about how the feedback system is going to work, but we do hear that the company will prompt users to send their thoughts on specific features after performing a number of tasks, such as sending emails or setting up reminders.

New insider program also prepared

Microsoft is also believed to be preparing a new insider program for Windows 9, that would allow users to send feedback through a dedicated app and receive new features and options for the operating system as soon as they are available.

Microsoft hasn’t talked too much about this new program, but screenshots that have reached the web in the last couple of days have confirmed that such an initiative is expected to be announced together with Windows 9 preview.

All these feedback collecting efforts are part of Microsoft’s new strategy to get closer to users and deliver the products that they want with features they want.

Obsessed over customers

Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s new CEO who replaced Steve Ballmer at the helm of the company in February, said in his first email to employees that getting obsessed over customers was a priority and future products should be entirely based on what they suggest.

“We will obsess over our customers. Obsessing over our customers is everybody's job. I'm looking to the engineering teams to build the experiences our customers love. I'm looking to the sales and marketing organizations to showcase our unique value propositions and drive customer usage first and foremost,” Satya Nadella said in February.

Windows 9 will be the very first Microsoft product with Nadella at the helm of the company, so it’s critical for him to be a successful operating system.

Of course, this all depends on how well Microsoft will address customer feedback, which the company apparently considers to be vital for the performance of Windows 9.
