Windows 10 is very close to receiving another update, and even though details coming from Microsoft are scarce to say the least, more information comes via unofficial channels.

It appears that the next preview build of Windows 10, which is already being tested internally at the company, will come with several subtle changes supposed to make the transition from a smartphone or tablet running this operating system to a PC easier.

As we have reported to you earlier today, the next Windows 10 build is very likely to include options that would allow users to disable the Task view and the search buttons placed on the taskbar, but according to Chinese website IThome, more updates are planned for this new release.

At this point, all these improvements are implemented in Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9879, so this could be one of the first signs that this particular version might after all be released to all users sometime in the near future.

More changes to IE and File Explorer

Even though Internet Explorer 12 won't be included in the next Technical Preview build of Windows 10, some enhancements will indeed be released, including an option to submit feedback for the app directly from its main screen, without the need for using the dedicated Feedback program included in the operating system.

File Explorer will come with a revised Home section that will allow users to pin files and folders for easier access, which should obviously come in handy to those who do not want to browse the whole hard drive in search for specific directories.

The Charms button included in Modern apps, which is actually one of the changes implemented in Windows 10 Technical Preview 9841, will also get a new design, as Microsoft decided to replace the three-dot symbol with the hamburger icon also available on Windows Phone 8.1.

Security updates tomorrow, more improvements in a few weeks

Windows 10 Technical Preview will get its own share of security improvements tomorrow as part of the Patch Tuesday rollout, while more new features are likely to be released by the end of the month.

Among the new options that will be included in the upcoming version, there's also an updated notification center which could come with quick actions to perform a number of tasks without launching the apps sending the notifications.

For example, you might be allowed to answer a Skype message straight from the notification center and without the need to launch the messaging client on your PC.
