More bug fixes coming out of Redmond these days

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 build 10074 after the BUILD developer conference last week, and despite the fact that it's the most stable version of the technical preview released so far, the company keeps providing updates and bug fixes to improve its performance.

Today, the company has rolled out yet another batch of improvements for Windows 10 build 10074, supposed to address some of the bugs that have been reported by testers in the last few days and that appear to be rather widespread.

The official documentation of the patch reveals that it addresses a bug causing Project Spartan to crash when attempting to launch on some devices, while also fixing several problems with the Start menu.

“The Start menu appears when features of the work area, such as the screen resolution, DPI setting, or screen rotation, are changed. This can occur when running apps, such as games, that open in full-screen. These apps then crash when pressing the Alt+Tab keys,” Microsoft says.

Just as always, these improvements are shipped via Windows Update, so if you're running build 10074 already, you have nothing else to do than to let your PC check for updates and install those available.

More improvements coming this month

Microsoft has already promised to provide updates at a faster pace for Windows Insiders, and the company is expected to roll out a new technical preview build sometime this month.

May is going to be a rather busy month for Microsoft because the company is planning to release not only a new PC build for insiders but also one for smartphones, so all devices would receive improvements in the next few weeks.

Windows 10 is projected to hit RTM sometime during the summer, while the phone version could be finalized and released in October, a few months after the PC build.
