Gamers have very specific hardware and software needs when it comes to buying a computer, even if those needs can be described vaguely as well, along the lines of “the best you can find.”

When it comes to office, business and enterprise systems, however, there isn't nearly the same level of performance requirement.

In fact, with the exception of video/graphics designers, most people can make do with just the basics, and sometimes hardware below even the standard set.

Micro-Star International aims to prove this through the latest WindTop desktop, called AP1920. Or maybe it wasn't thinking about any of this and just figured it was time for a low-end system to make its appearance.

Whatever the case may be, the newcomer should be able to be sufficient as a work implement, one that has the advantage of being easy on the eyes to boot.

The WindTop AP1920 has an HD screen with a diagonal of 19 inches. The 1366 x 768 pixels resolution isn't all that impressive, but as we have said, that was the whole point.

Beneath the system lies an Intel Atom D510 dual-core central processor, which has 1 MB of cache memory and a frequency of 1.66 GHz. It even supports Hyper-Threading, turning the 2 physical cores into 4 logical ones, as far as the operating system is concerned.

The spec sheet continues with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory), a hard disk drive (HDD) of 320 GB capacity, a 6-in-1 card reader, and a slot-in DVR writer.

As for connectivity and I/O, MSI didn't leave anything to chance. It included Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, audio jacks, USB, etc.

Finally, the newcomer possesses a 1.3-megapixel web camera and a detachable stand, which allows the WindTop AP1920 to be mounted on a wall if buyers so desire.

MSI will ship the system along with a compact keyboard and mouse. The product page has more information, but we don't know the price.
