A new flavor of the WhatsApp for Windows Phone application is now rolling out for users who signed up for the private beta testing program, providing them with a series of new features and enhancements that will soon arrive in the stable iteration of the software.

According to the guys over at WPCentral, the new app iteration landed on devices with a brand new interface for the picture preview window, as well as with an option to add caption to images that users are sharing with their contacts.

Moreover, the new WhatsApp Beta release allows users to see the number of participants in a group, it seems.

At the same time, the mobile application picked up a series of performance enhancements, which means that users will enjoy a faster experience with it.

As mentioned above, the new features were included in the private beta flavor of WhatsApp for Windows Phone, though they are expected to land in the official app iteration as well in the not too distant future, depending on how the testing process goes.

Given that the WhatsApp application for Windows Phone has had some issues lately (especially with the new Windows Phone 8.1 OS version), it’s encouraging to see that improvements and new capabilities are coming to it.
