We bring you the latest Western Digital firmware for one of their popular external storage solutions, the My Book Live NAS. The new firmware has reached the 2.10.09 version and brings a heap of changes and fixes for a lot of issues which plagued the old software.

Among the nastiest things which went wrong with the previous firmware we'll just mention the iTunes music streaming issue, a feature which generated a lot of errors with iTunes version 10.5, the file corruption leading to CNID DB error on Mac OS X, or the multiple users issue with mac OSx 10.6. It seems like the Mac users have had quite a hard time with the My Book Live, but WD claim things are way better now.

Windows XP users can now connect to the My Book Live using WD 2go while the Private sharing status has been changed from "All" to "None" as its default value.  Another funny issue caused a backup malfunction if the backup date was set to the 31st day of the month, while the current month had less than 31 days.
