After highlighting some of the biggest new features of the upcoming SSX snowboarding game in a previous video, EA has just deployed some new footage that goes even deeper into the online functionality of the new title.

While we got a chance to check out the Explore and RiderNet features last month, EA has now presented some more details about the multiplayer mode, in the form of Global Events and the Geotag mechanic.

This mode consists of actual events and races that are held across the game’s virtual world and players can easily jump into them, perform as best as they can, and get rewarded depending on how much in-game credits they paid to enter.

Players and their friends can also engage in Private Events, where they can customize the rules and modes of the game according to their preferences.

SSX also has a special Geotag mechanic, which tasks a player with deploying special tags when they’re tackling a mountain descent. Based on how long the tag stays there until it’s collected by your friends, more in-game credits are added to your balance.

Overall, as you can see in the video above, SSX’s multiplayer mode, which is limited, albeit in a loose way, by an Online Pass mechanic, is looking extremely sharp.
