It's true that there are many a computer casings scouting the market for prospective purchasers, whether from the simple, mini ATX-type to the several “god-class” computer chassis out there, which claim to offer the ultimate in heat management, whether through gravitationally conscious liquid cooling or other means. Famous chassis manufacturer Thermaltake knows, however, that those ultra-powerful casings will hardly be purchased by many customers. To please all those end-users who want a reasonable compromise between quality and affordability, the company added a new member to its V-Series line of computer casings, the new, stylish, black-coated mid-tower casing V3 Black Edition.

Although this casing is not exactly built with the latest and most expensive resources, it still targets those users who know value when they see it. The chassis supports both micro-ATX and Full ATX motherboards and has two front USB 2.0 and audio ports as built-in I/O capabilities. It measures 430(H) x 190(W) x 473(L) mm and weighs 4.8 kg.

The inside of the case is fitted with four 5.25-inch bays, five 3.5-inch bays (out of which one is external) and seven expansion slots. This means that not only will the V3 Black Edition be a perfect home for end-users' systems, but it also has a high degree of expandability. The case is built out of SECC (Steel, Electrogalvanized, Cold-rolled Coil) and has a plastic front bezel.

Some interesting perks of the new Thermaltake chassis are the built-in filters (in the 5.25-inch bays and the PSU), which make sure that dust doesn't easily make it inside. The rear upper side of the case is equipped with a blue-lit, pre-installed, 120mm fan, which can be viewed through the chassis' side-window. This fan hole is also provided with a dust filter, ensuring a longer fan lifespan and overall preserving the general computer health.

The only feature that the chassis seems to be lacking is a separate motherboard tray. Still, the product makes up for this through the increased system health preservation achieved via the dust filters and the three optional, additional fans for front and bottom intake and top exhaust. The V3 Black Edition mid-tower chassis supports any Standard ATX PSII and will be available at the reasonable estimated price of US$39.
