Microsoft has just released a batch of three different security updates for Windows 10 build 10122 and 10074 to address vulnerabilities that could expose our computers.

The company says that everyone should install these updates as soon as possible, as they patch flaws in the operating system itself and Internet Explorer that were already fixed in older versions of Windows.

Here are the three patches, along with their official descriptions provided to us by Microsoft:

MS15-045: The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Journal file. MS15-038: These vulnerabilities could allow elevation of privilege if an attacker logs on to the system and runs a specially crafted application. KB3049563: Resolves vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer that could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage by using Internet Explorer.

Shipped via Windows Update

As is the case with any other update that Microsoft rolled out these days, these security patches are being delivered via Windows Update, so you won't have to move a finger to get them. A reboot will, however, be required, so make sure you save your work before anything else.

Windows 10 build 10122 is the latest version of the insider preview and was rolled out to users a couple of weeks ago, with Microsoft now believed to be preparing the release of an updated build coming with additional features, more improvements, and the new icons we've seen in leaked screenshots and builds.

The company hasn't yet said anything about the release date of a new build because work is in progress on it, but we should expect to get it either sometime this week or next week, as we get closer to the rumored RTM date in June.

General availability for Windows 10 is prepared for the summer, with some sources claiming that late July or August is the moment when the new OS would get the go-ahead.
