The only major carrier in the United States that still doesn’t have an LTE network, T-Mobile USA is about to launch its own 4G services within the next few weeks.

T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray told PCMag in a recent interview that the carrier planned to launch its LTE network in several markets, including Las Vegas.

However, Ray admitted that the carrier did not have any LTE-enabled smartphones in its portfolio, but claimed that customers who wished to try out T-Mobile’s 4G services would be able to do so if they owned compatible AT&T LTE devices.

Aside from that, Neville Ray also said that an upcoming minor update could enable Samsung Galaxy Note II’s LTE support, thus turning it into T-Mobile’s first LTE smartphone.

Obviously, the information has yet to been confirmed, but the fact that T-Mobile Galaxy Note II’s LTE support can be turned on via software update is encouraging.
