The next Unreal Tournament free-to-play shooter from Epic Games has just received its first actual gameplay footage, showing some early deathmatch action in a test environment, alongside a few reactions from its development team.

Epic Games surprised quite a lot of people worldwide when it announced earlier this month that it was bringing back Unreal Tournament as a free-to-play multiplayer shooter, which will be developed in partnership with fans and actual Unreal Engine 4 partners.

The studio promised that it would constantly communicate with fans and now it's doing just that, launching a video with the first actual gameplay footage from the new Unreal Tournament.

As you can see below, Epic has gotten the movement and shooting system up to par and things are moving quite well in the small test map shown in the footage.

It seems that players can already perform some acrobatic movements to reach new places and you can bet that Epic's staff will continue to tweak the movement system before the initial alpha release of Unreal Tournament on the PC in the following months.

Until then, expect to hear and see more of the new first-person shooter, as Epic wants to keep fans and partners up to speed with the development process.
