Kristen plays a dangerous game, one that could destroy her older employer

The international trailer for “Sils Maria,” the drama starring Kristen Stewart, Juliette Binoche and Chloe Grace Moretz, is out and offers a better look at the undoing of a once-very popular movie star.

This is the movie for which Kristen had to gain some weight, saying some time ago that she wanted to make her character less Hollywood. She plays a personal assistant to the once-famous movie star, Maria Enders, played by Juliette Binoche.

Maria became famous decades before by starring in a play in which she’s the ingénue that seduces her older female employer who then commits suicide. She is now asked to revisit that masterpiece only that, this time, she’s offered the role of the older woman.

Moretz plays the ingénue in the play but the drama for Maria doesn’t end on stage: at home, her personal assistant seems to be playing a game with her, one that could have fatal consequences.

“Sils Maria” is directed by Olivier Assayas (“Carlos,” “Demonlover”) on a script he also wrote, and opened at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year to solid reviews. It won’t be out in theaters until December 2014, so we’ll have to wait until then to see if critics were right in praising it.

Meanwhile, I will say this: the trailer is very promising. *Please note that discretion is recommended when viewing it because it contains language that might offend.
