“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” arrives in theaters on November 20, a year after the first film based on Stephenie Meyer’s books made it out. So far, fans have had the pleasure of seeing a few teasers and trailers, including some behind-the-scene footage, so, clearly, Summit Entertainment’s decision to release another trailer came as a surprise. Yet it did, and the new trailer is now online in high quality.

This recently unveiled trailer was first aired on Access Hollywood and, within minutes, it was already up on websites like YouTube, from where Summit, the movie studio behind the “Twilight” franchise, was working hard to pull it down. Speculation also had it that Access Hollywood was not supposed to premiere the video when it did, which is why the movie studio was putting in so much effort to stop it from spreading on the net. Eventually, the footage was uploaded on Fandango, an official Summit partner, which means it’s here to stay.

Of course, not all the scenes in the new trailer are new, fans will note. Some of them have already been shown on previous occasions, such as that of Jacob Black’s transformation when Bella learns of the existence of the Wolf Pack and the heartbreaking forest scene when Edward leaves Bella because it’s simply too dangerous for her to be a part of his world. Again, not that fans expected all the scenes to be new for them: on the contrary, one of the main objections brought against Twilight is that it’s releasing too much footage from the film ahead of the premiere, which poses a serious risk of doing away with the element of surprise.

Speaking of surprises, these come in many shapes and sizes in the new trailer. For one, fans will see a slow-motion scene in which vampire Laurent is taken down after a chase through the forest. Some shots with red-haired Victoria, the vampire stalking Bella, running through the trees are also included and they too are well done. However, the biggest surprise, without a doubt, has to be the confrontation scene between Edward and Jacob, with Bella caught in the middle.

Even if Summit strayed a bit from the original story by having Jacob phase when Edward attempted to hit him, this is clearly one of the hottest moments included in the new video. See the entire trailer here, and do leave your thoughts about it in the comments section below. Enjoy.
