New clip brings less humor, plenty more explosions and gadgets

The first trailers for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” the sequel to the 2009 release, placed a lot of emphasis on humor and how buff guys like The Rock and Bruce Willis could still deliver killer one-liners.

That no longer applies to the latest trailer now out, which, as usual, you can see in full in the video above.

“Retaliation” is a sequel but, unlike with many Hollywood productions, hopes are high that it will fare better than the original, which was thrashed by critics.

By the looks of the new trailer, which focuses more on action scenes (and explosions, of course) and the various weapons and gadgets employed in combat, it certainly promises to be so.

“Retaliation” drops in theaters on June 29.
