14 DAY TRIAL // A brand new set of details about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have just appeared online, as quite a lot of fresh information about the long awaited role-playing game is being shared by those who managed to play it ahead of its debut in May, focusing specifically on gameplay, visuals, and other such things.
The Witcher 3 is eagerly awaited by millions of RPG fans from all over the world and developer CD Projekt Red has shared plenty of details throughout the many months in which the game has been in development.
Lots of fresh details are now revealed
Now, GameStar magazine from Germany has spent 12 hours with the new RPG and a lot of their impressions have just been made available to the English-speaking public, via NeoGAF.
First up, it seems that there are four main difficulty modes (Easy, Medium, Hard, and Dark) which affect the skills of the monsters. Their health remains the same, but there will be no level scaling throughout the huge open world. As such, the player reached level 7 but was killed in one shot by a level 25 wyvern.
Speaking of the world, the Novigrad and No Man's Land are on a single huge map that's bigger than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, while other territories round up the full environment. There are two big cities, in the form of Novigrad and Oxenfurt, but there will also be many settlements. Fortunately, exploring the inside of buildings is seamless, as doors open whenever Geralt is near.
You will play the game mostly as Geralt, but from the few Ciri sequences experienced by the magazine, it seems her moments are more action adventure than gritty RPG, so they'll offer a fresh change of pace.
The Heads Up Display can be customized in different ways and the game looks quite impressive at all moments of the day or night. The Ultra visual setting makes a big impact on the quality of the vegetation and the character models, apparently.
The game is currently being tested by Sony and Microsoft, but there will be a day one patch, although it's unclear what exactly is included in it.
