While it's not out of the ordinary for video games to really emphasize their goriness, the new 'Artfully Executed' trailer for The Darkness II definitely takes things up a notch, showcasing the many unique ways the game's protagonist, mob boss and supernatural power-wielding superhuman Jackie Estacado, can eviscerate his enemies.

The Darkness II is preparing for its launch next February, and already its developer, Digital Extremes, and its publisher, 2K Games, have begun presenting some of the more unique sides of the new paranormal shooter, like the special quadwielding power used by Jackie, as he can carry around two weapons, as well as two special Darkness tentacles to use against his enemies.

Now, with the trailer above, which definitely isn't for the faint of heart or weak of stomach, The Darkness II amps up its gory side, as Jackie can't just shoot his enemies, but also wreak bloody havoc with his supernatural powers.

The Darkness II is out on February 7, 2012, in North America, and February 10, in Europe, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
