This is a rather small update with just a few changes and improvements

A new Steam Beta version has been released by Valve and it looks like the devs are gearing up for another long development cycle.

The latest major Steam update is only a week old, but the devs from Valve are already pushing numerous updates. All of these improvements should arrive sooner or later in the Stable branch of the software, depending on how important they are.

According to the changelog, a rare hang issue that occurred when using the Library and loading a workshop thumbnail that was corrupted has been fixed, the small mode UI is now refreshing when new games have been added to the library, and the white screen using VideoToolbox hardware accelerated decode has been corrected.

You have to keep in mind that, after you change to the Beta channel, the application will no longer be stable. You might experience various problems that haven't been fixed yet or other unknown issues. If that is the case, just open the Settings menu and switch back to the Stable branch by opting out of the Beta.

If you don’t have the client, you can download the Steam for Linux installer from Softpedia. This is not the actual application, but a small tool provided by Valve that downloads the software and takes care of any dependencies.
