A new cooler has been released, ready to tackle the issue of heat generation on high-end central processing unit. Cooling even the hottest of chips should be an easy task for the CRYORIG R1.

It is, after all, a dual-tower monstrosity, featuring two 140 mm fans, and room for a third.

To elaborate, there is one between the towers and one on the side of one of them. The side of the other tower is left bare, but can accept a fan of its own. Well, the R1 Ultimate can anyway.

The R1 Universal has a XF140 fan and a thin profile 140 x 13 mm XT140 silent performance fan instead.

Alas, conspicuously enough, the list of supported CPU sockets was not revealed, so we don't know if this cooler can handle Intel or AMD CPUs/APUs, or both.

Probably both, but we'll have to wait until January 2014 to be sure, since that's when availability will ramp up. For the CRYORIG R1 Ultimate anyhow. The R1 Universal is set for February.
