Johnny Grant, chairperson for the Walk of Fame just announced the finalists for next year's bronze stars on Hollywood's most famous boulevard. Among them are Mariah Carey, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Robert Altman, Jamie Foxx, Michael Cane, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eric Estrada, Matt Damon and The Doors.
Diddy was entirely taken by surprise by the announcement, although he had been first nominated for a star of his own two years ago. Both he and Mariah have made public statements to thank the chairperson and to extend their gratitude towards the public that made it all possible.
The Walk of Fame is one major point of attraction in Hollywood and has a long lasting tradition. It was begun in 1960 and, since then, the number of stars has been increasing, reaching today to more than 2,300. The nominated artists' stars will be revealed most likely in 2007 and the ceremonies are also said to take place that same year.
