Microsoft is bringing back the Springboard Series Tour later this spring. It appears that the Redmond company is planning to kick off the upcoming tour on May 2, 2011.

At the time of this article, the software giant had confirmed the series of events as well as the start date, but offered little additional information.

“In two weeks, we will announce what cities we will be visiting. In the meantime, bookmark The Springboard Series Tour site and make sure to follow us on Twitter @springboardtour to learn more,” revealed Microsoft’s Stephen L Rose.

The tour’s official website has been revamped to contain a counter designed to reveal just how much it’s left until the next edition of the Springboard Series Tour.

IT professionals interested in participating should keep their eyes on the site or follow the Tour’s Twitter account.

As it has been the case in the past, the upcoming events that are part of the Springboard Series Tour will also have a limited number of participants, and it will be a good idea to sign up beforehand.

Registering for the next edition of the Springboard Series Tour will be possible once the site will go fully live.

“This upcoming tour will be a North American Tour and we are looking to do another tour this fall to Europe and Asia. We have no plans for a Latin American tour at this time but maybe next year,” Rose added.

The promise from Microsoft is that additional details on this and future Springboard Series Tour events will be offered to the public soon.

According to what little information is available, the software giant will focus on Internet Explorer 9 (IE9), Windows 7, Office 2010, Office 365, Windows Intune and the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) in this edition of the Springboard Series Tour.
