New Sponsored Search from Yahoo!

As you may know, Yahoo Search Marketing is one of the services that recorded a huge number of complaints from its users, no matter if they were related to the setup procedures or to the 3 days period that the company needed to check and then reject or approve a request.
After many users said that their new listings were still in pending after 2 or 3 days from the submission
date, Yahoo! finally decided that it's the moment to improve its service.
So, the company started the process of upgrading U.S. advertisers to the new advertising platform but you still cannot be sure if you're accepted because the new selection is tougher than the old one.

If you want to be placed on the top of the request list, you can submit your details using the reservation link provided by Yahoo!.

"As you may know, Yahoo! Search Marketing has begun inviting U.S. advertisers to upgrade their accounts to our completely redesigned Sponsored Search platform. Invitations will be sent in stages to U.S. advertisers over the remainder of the year and early next year. We are scheduling these upgrades in stages to ensure that we continue to offer the highest level of customer support," it is mentioned on the service webpage.

Yahoo! tries to prevent new complaints from its users about the improved service, saying that "while we may not be able to accept every advertiser who wishes to upgrade early, we will do our best to accommodate your request."

We spend just over 500 per day with yahoo sponsored search and would like to spend more.

We had our campaigns working well making incremental progress each day until Yahoo implemented their new platform. It flat out sucks and all you get it the standard company line when you call support. We have experienced a range of oddities from prices changing, deleted keywords un-deleting or un-pausing, price changes not working. We now spend 3 hours per day doing Yahoo damage control.

It has gotten so bad for us that we now take screen shots of everything odd we find. Look for some of our screen shots later under "Yahoo Sponsored Search Compaints".

Yahoo sponsored search also has keywords / search terms mismatched. We found a keyword for our auto related business that mapped directly to a porn site. If you can find one smoking gun you are bound to find another. Now we are searching our logs to see how many more keyword mismatches we can find.

Bottom line, the new Yahoo sponsored search does not work as advertised. It is now quirky where you could once rely on consistency.
