A less conventional approach to speaker design

NBS is a name that has become renowned for the quality of their connectivity solutions when it came to high-end cables needed in top-drawer, luxury applications. Now it's time to introduce to you the latest loudspeakers coming from their labs, a very strong statement in the world of very expensive audio equipment destined for the generous audiophiles. There are three new units in the NBS family: the Pyramid, the E.V.A. and the Butterfly, each with untamed luxury written all over and looking simply stunning.

Despite their very common names, which might lead one into confusion, these new speakers are nothing of a toy. If you've been expecting lot of plastic and cheap design, you won't find them in the NBS speakers.

These pieces of audio equipment are made from high-class wood essences and come with an impeccable finish; not only have they been carefully engineered to deliver you the best sonic performance for your penny, but they'll also be a most valuable addition to your luxurious interior. Easy to integrate in most settings, the new NBS Speakers boast bold and assertive shapes that will make a lot of heads turn, even before they'll sing their first tunes.

While the Pyramid says pretty much everything about the shape of the speaker, the Butterfly won't. You'll be surprised to see a huge elegant wooden cabinet with slanted facets looking like a butterfly with wide open wings; but the whole delicate idea vanishes when you learn about the massive 18” woofer housed inside the cabinet. When paired with the E.V.A., you'll be able to enjoy a massive sound coming from dual 18” woofers, two midrange compression drivers and dual ring radiator tweeters for extreme left and right, allowing you to get a huge sound stage in the largest of rooms. The phase alignment of all the drivers ensures a very well-balanced listening and a sonic response with authentic, lifelike dynamics.

Now, while the cheapest model from the Pyramid range will set you back $25,000 (in case we agree to call $25K “cheap”), the highest version costs thrice as much. And when it comes to the E.V.A. and the Butterfly, things get even bigger: a no-joke $200,000 price tag comes with these units, making them as exclusive as they are beautiful.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
