Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is reportedly getting ready for the release of a new flagship handset before the end of this year, and some new leaked images with the phone are now available for your viewing pleasure.

The smartphone, spotted online quite a few times before, will allegedly make an official appearance at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin in September, one year after the Xperia Z1 was revealed there.

The upcoming device will supposedly feature the name of Sony Xperia Z3, while packing about the same hardware specs as its predecessor, the Xperia Z2, did.

Design-wise, however, the new mobile phone will sport a series of small changes, including more rounded edges, slightly setting it apart from the sharp, square looks of its predecessors.

We’ve already had the chance to have a look at the phone, courtesy of various leaked images with it, and some new such photos are now available, confirming that a white variant of the device will also be released.

The new images have been found online on Weibo, but are not accompanied by new details on the mobile phone’s hardware, as nowhereelse notes. The leaked images show only the back cover and front panel of the device, as they appear to have been taken during the assembling process.

However, previous leaks on the device suggested that it would be launched with a 5.15-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution.

At the same time, the mobile phone should be powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, most probably a Snapdragon 801 one, which will ensure that it is capable of delivering appealing performance capabilities.

Xperia Z3 is also said to feature Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot for storage expansion purposes.

On the back, the handset will sport a 20.7-megapixel camera, most probably capable of recording videos in 4K resolution, the same as the Xperia Z2 does. A 2.1MP front camera for making video calls while on the go will also be included.

Sony Xperia Z3 should run under the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system right from the start, but will also feature a variety of exclusive software features and applications coming from Sony itself.

Although no official confirmation on Xperia Z3’s features and capabilities has been provided as of now, Sony did say before that a new flagship phone would arrive this fall, and the info above could pan out in the end. IFA 2014 is set to kick off in roughly one month, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
