The unannounced smartphone emerged in AnTuTu benchmark

Officially announced several months ago, Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 800 processor has yet to make it inside commercial devices.

However, it seems that Japanese mobile phone maker Sony might be one of the handset vendors set to pack it inside a new smartphone.

The phone was allegedly spotted in AnTuTu benchmark, powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and running under Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, where it managed to score no less than 32,000 points.

Although the device’s model number is “ymmh5y0n5zeaouu,” a recent article on GSMInsider claims that this would be an Xperia smartphone, although an unconfirmed one for the time being.

Given that these benchmarking results can be easily faked, we’ll take the info with a grain of salt for the time being, though the possibility exists that Sony is indeed planning a high-end handset with said processor packed inside, so stay tuned.
