The music player, headphones and speakers are part of the same product

The Sony walkman started out as a small, battery-powered, portable cassette player, but now there are things that don't resemble that original design at all.

Case in point, the latest Walkman WH series called the NWZ-WH303 and the NWZ-WH505 are merged with the idea of headphones.

Verily, one may call them headphones with integrated speakers and media players instead of the other way around.

There are several sound modes to switch through, like dynamic, enhanced bass, mid to high range vocals, etc.

To use the surround sound speaker, simply let the headphones hang around your neck or place them on a tablet nearby after activating the mode.

Sony proprietary xLoud and VPT for Speakers technology allow multiple people to listen to music for up to 20 hours at a time.

As it happens, the main difference between the NWZ-WH303 and the NWZ-WH505 is the storage space inside. The former has 15 GB and the latter has 4 GB.

Both Mac and Windows computers are supported by the black or white products. Prices are unavailable, sadly.
