The dock allows users to add any display featuring an analog or DVI connection

DisplayLink announced yesterday that the new Sony Vaio USB Docking Station VGP-UPR1 would include its network display technology. The docking station is compatible with several VAIO notebook models and will have the DisplayLink technology embedded in it, allowing users to connect multiple monitors to their systems via USB 2.0. You can use the dock with other notebook models that have USB 2.0 connections as well.

Any display featuring an analog or DVI connection can be used with the Sony Vaio USB Docking Station VGP-UPR1, allowing mobile users and travelers to connect more than one monitor to their work in case such a rather unique situation arises. The standard specifications for the dock include a VGA port, DVI-D port, four USB ports, Ethernet port, headphone and microphone ports, and a DC. All the peripherals you need, monitor, mouse, keyboard, printer, network cable and power supply, can be connected to the mobile PC, easing work and creating a rather enjoyable environment.

Any display featuring a resolution of up to 1600x1200-pixels can be added by users to their work. The dock can be used under Windows 2000, XP and, Vista 32-bit and 64-bit versions, including support for the Aero interface. The price for the Sony Vaio USB Docking Station VGP-UPR1 has been set at $199.99.

The dock is compatible with the CR series, FZ series, FW series, NR series and AR500 / AR600 / AR700 / AR800 series VAIO notebooks. It can be easily operated even by inexperienced users, and features USB cable management, allowing for adjustments to the length and side position. The dock weighs only 1.032 lbs (0.468 kg) and measures (11 x 1.25 x 2.92 inch). The only color available for the device is black.
