One of the largest photography events of the year, Photokina 2014 is just two weeks away from us. And all important players of the photo industry are probably gearing up to bring out their latest.

It’s the case of Sony too, which will have a few surprises up its sleeve if we are to believe the sources talking to Sony Alpha Rumors. According to them, the company will most likely unveil the new high-end E-Mount 4K video camera at the event.

For the time being, the information about the newcomer is quite scattered, except for the 4K video recording capability which will surely be equipped with the shooter.

The first source says the device will take design feats from the Canon Cinema series and will arrive to replace the FS100. It will be competitively priced and will be competing head to head with the Canon C100 and C300.

The second source says more E-mount video/cinema-centric lenses are in the pipeline. Last but not least comes the third source which says Sony will release an E mount S35 (crop) cinema camera

It will be able to shoot 4K internally to a memory card. The device won’t have an A7s sensor, so maybe we will see something in the vein of the F5. The price is said to be under $10K / €8K.

Hopefully, in a few weeks we will know exactly what's what.
