Samsung and T-Mobile have started to send out a new software update to the owners of a Galaxy S II smartphone on Magenta’s network.

The new release is based on Android 4.0.4 and arrives with baseband version T989UVLI4 attached to it, while being available both OTA and via Samsung Kies.

“This update includes Qualcomm fix, security enhancements, and Vlingo S Voice improvements,” T-Mobile notes on its support forums (via Android Police).

According to T-Mobile, the new software update is expected to reach all of its Galaxy S II devices in a few weeks.

“If you want to update to T989UVLI4, you can update via OTA. Please wait for the notification to update. The OTA will continue to be delivered until February 7. There is no escalation option if the update has not been received,” the carrier notes.
