HP's online photo service, Snapfish by HP, announced a number of new useful tools that would help users edit and share their photos. Ben Nelson, the general manager of the HP subdivision, said that they were simplifying the way users uploaded, created and shared their memories by introducing new, speedy platforms.

Snapfish coordinated with HP Labs for the development of Magic Layouts. This easy-to-use tool allows users to create custom photo-book designs with less hassle and substantially more professional-looking results. The application can generate automated, customized layouts that will fit the user's photos perfectly. Magic Layout features a Shuffle button that will help customers cycle through many alternate layouts. Furthermore, the customers can drag and drop as many as 15 photos that will be automatically re-sized and cropped in order to fit the current layout.

Snapfish also released a Facebook application that provides a direct link between the photo-sharing site and the user's printer, a Snapfish Express Upload tool, the Snapfish iPhone app, iPod, and the Mac iPhoto Exporter.

Novice users will be thrilled to see that Snapfish Express Upload can guide them through the whole process of getting their digital camera's pictures to an online photo-sharing website. The new iPhone application can upload multiple files to the Snapfish website without having to switch between the application and the website itself.

Ben Nelson, the general manager of Snapfish by HP also stated: “We know our customers are savvy and juggle busy, on-the-go lives while wanting the ultimate in convenience when considering ways to make the most of their photos,”

HP recently introduced a new photo printer that can connect to Snapfish.com directly. The HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One offers customers an easy-to-use printing and scanning interface, as well as wireless connectivity and copier functions. The printer features the HP TouchSmart control panel and a 3.45-inch color touchscreen interface that allows the user to view, adjust and print quality photos directly from the online albums at Snapfish. Customers can print, share, and create photo projects directly from the printer, without even booting up their PC. The price tag for this new printer is estimated at $199.
