You can build a media PC in it, but there's space for stronger hardware too

When SilverStone made the Milo ML07 mini-ITX case, it may or may not have been thinking of the few people around the world who would love to flummox their peers by carrying a super PC in a bag pocket.

Granted, “super PC” might be too strong a term. After all, spacious or not, the new Milo ML07 is still a mini-ITX chassis that can't hold the larger beasts out there.

Nevertheless, there is space for all the essentials, and SilverStone has even included a PCI Express x16 riser, providing room for a full-height, dual-slot video card of up to 330 mm length.

That's about as long as all video cards can get, with few exceptions. And since we already know of more than a few mini-ITX mainboards with support for the latest Core-series Intel CPUs, that's pretty much every base covered right there.

In fact, you can even install the NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black, which is the best single-GPU board in the Santa Clara, California-based company right now.

There could be some issues with the actual implementation, however, due to how the drive bays and PSU compartment are arranged.

Most mini-ITX motherboards we've seen are square, with the memory slots along one edge and the PCI Express add-in card slot on another, forming a right angle.

Yet the SilverStone Milo ML07 seems to expect the video card to be placed in the middle of things, literally.

The way the two add-on slot bays are arranged along the plane of the motherboard tray, and the three 2.5-inch internal bays aren't exactly much help there. The 3.5 mm bay could also prove a problem.

Also, there aren't many power supplies of the small form factor variety that could supply the PC held within the SilverStone Milo ML07 with enough energy. Not if you go for a beast like GTX Titan Z or and AMD equivalent.

All in all, the SilverStone Milo ML07 sounds like a dream, but it could prove problematic when it comes to actually installing PC hardware in it. Hopefully, the mainboard will just fit in the half of the case holding the PSU bay. The whole product does measure 382 mm x 350 mm x 105 mm after all (15.03 x 13.77 x 4.13 inches).

At least the 120 mm vent above the motherboard tray and the two 120 mm bottom vents don't complicate matters (you can even put in a 240 x 120 mm radiator instead). Finally, the (regrettably still unpriced) Silver Stone Milo ML07 mini PC case boasts a front panel with two USB 3.0 ports and audio/mic jacks.
