It appears that fans of the Aspire One netbook should be on the lookout for at least one more model coming to expand the PC vendor's lineup of 10-inch netbooks. Photos of the new system have already been leaked on the Internet, which can only mean that Acer will soon be introducing the new laptop, further expanding its netbook portfolio. With the new model, it might seem that Acer is doing what ASUS has done with its netbook lineup, that is, launching different versions of the same system, providing users with just some few differences in terms of technical specifications and overall design.

For the time being Acer is still far behind ASUS in terms of netbook models launched on the market, as the PC vendor has only released two models, namely the Aspire One with an 8.9-inch display and the 10-inch version of the same model. However, according to pictures provided by the blog site macles, Acer is planning the release of yet another Aspire One netbook, one that has a different, slimmer design and could become available with an SSD storage solution. Unfortunately, there aren't any specific details regarding the system's technical configuration, like processor model or memory.

The VGA and the RJ45 port on the new Aspire One netbook seem to indicate that the company has specifically built the motherboard of the system so that it could enable the slimmer form factor. The presence of the Windows key suggests that we will see the new netbook with a Windows operating system, but a Linux-based version could also be part of the offering. There's also an SD slot, three USB ports and a rather interesting large touchpad.

Put it all together and you could come to the conclusion that this will be Acer's first high-end netbook model, which will likely compete with ASUS' famous S101 netbook.
