A new website launched by Amazon is intended to help greenheads worldwide get their hands on environmentally friendly products such as organic food, natural cosmetics, eco cleaning supplies and many other such green-oriented items.

It has not been long since we reported on the launching of a website meant to promote the recycling of used oil, which is why it seems to us that the online community is starting to make ever more room for environmentally friendly behavior.

Known as Vine.com, this particular website is run by a company that Amazon purchased quite a while ago, going by the name of Quidsi.

Because this company runs other similar websites as well (eg. Diapers.com, BeautyBar.com), the people behind this project made it so that customers could purchase various items from Vine.com, and then proceed to adding products from other websites to their online shopping list, regardless of whether these latter products abide or not by green-oriented standards.

Interestingly enough, it seems that Vine.com will make sure people wishing to buy environmentally friendly products are not misled by those selling them.

Thus, all of the claims submitted by vendors will be reviewed by trained staff, so that customers can rest assured that the items they are buying are in fact organic, natural or efficient when it comes to managing resources such as water or electricity.

In case anyone was wondering, it seems that it will take about one or two days before the items purchased will make it to one's home, and that the shipping options will be virtually the same as when one goes shopping on Amazon and other sites owned by this company.

Although having more people buy green-oriented products stands to make a difference in terms of environmental protection, it seems that this website is first and foremost intended to help people make healthier life choices.
