“Sin City” came out in 2005 and revolutionized cinematography with its gorgeous visuals, drawing directly from Frank Miller’s comics. Almost a decade later, the sequel will be arriving in theaters this August.

A new 60-second trailer for “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” has just been released and, as usual, you will find it embedded below. To say that it’s absolutely gorgeous is probably an understatement, especially as you can see the improvement in the visuals (compared to the original), made possible by advances in technology.

For a newcomer to the franchise, this new teaser probably means very little because it doesn’t bother with plot details. What it does instead is show off the impressive cast, which includes a table dancing, vodka drinking, gun brandishing Jessica Alba, a beaten up Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a worse for wear Josh Brolin, and a mafia-type of villain in Powers Boothe.

All comes wrapped up in an aura of mystery, danger, and sensuality few other movies can promise to deliver.

The cast also includes appearances from Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Michael Madsen, Jamie King, Rosario Dawson, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Juno Temple, Christopher Meloni, and Julia Garner.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” is co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller and will open in the US, after some unwelcome delays, in August this year.
