The sixth installment of the classic
horror game Silent Hill has been finally named by Konami and, even better, it has got a release date as well. Dubbed Silent
Hill: Homecoming, the game is developed for
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles and will hit the European stands sometime this September.
The game will introduce a new protagonist to the series, Alex Shepherd, a guy who investigates the sudden disappearance of his brother, Joshua. From Shepherd's Glen to Silent Hill, Alex must face the darkest of horrors in order to find his brother. Struggling with his own grip on reality, Alex must unravel the mystery behind his nightmares, discover the truth behind his brother's disappearance, and confront the evil lurks in the seemingly empty streets of Silent Hill.
With a new soundtrack created by renowned series composer Akira Yamaoka, Silent Hill: Homecoming will be the first Silent Hill title developed by Konami for next generation consoles and promises to be so real that it will bring terror to your souls like never before. And will definitely do so since Alex will have to battle bravely against the misshapen denizens of the town using an enhanced combat system that provides vast amounts of attacks and counter-attacks.
With tons of monsters lurking around the corners, a bunch of weapons to find and puzzles to solve, Alex will feel the utmost Silent Hill experience and discover the darkest secrets along the way.
"Silent Hill V is an international, cross-cultural production, with leading development talent from around the globe collaborating to raise the bar even higher for this incredible series," said Brian Christian, Vice President of Product Development at Konami Digital Entertainment. "With gritty graphics and sound combining to create a haunting atmosphere and all-new visceral gameplay elements, Silent Hill V shows the level to which next-generation hardware can enhance the player's overall gaming experience."
