As the release date for “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” is drawing near, fans already know they're to expect a much bigger adventure from their favorite maniacal PI and his loyal and charming sidekick. The second trailer reveals just how much bigger it will be, since the collapse of the entire Western civilization becomes imminent.
The newly released clip shows a bit more of the plot, while also including a better look at some of the new characters (especially the one played by Noomi Rapace) as compared to
the first one.
It also offers confirmation that director Guy Ritchie is mixing and matching various styles in the making of the sequel, thus further strengthening the impression that this will play out like a James Bond story of yore.
The slo-mo fight scenes seem to be particularly eye-catching, but there will also be lots of humor and witty one-liners thrown in the mix.
Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” is out in theaters on December 16.
