Ever since Intel officially unveiled at CES 2011 its new Sandy Bridge CPU lineup, in both desktop and mobile flavors, we've witnesses a rather constant flow of products built on the new platform making their way onto the market, the latest we've come across being a duo of high-end notebooks developed by Kobalt Computers.

According to Kitguru, the UK-based company, a specialized high-end computing systems' integrator, has just unveiled two new notebook systems that leverage not only the performance boosts brought about by the new 2nd Generation Intel Core CPUs, but also the better graphics enabled by some of the latest (and fastest) mobile GPUs from NVIDIA.

The first Sandy Bridge notebook introduced by Kobalt is the G150 model, a 15.4-inch machine that's powered by the Intel Core i7 2630QM mobile CPU running at 2.00-2.90GHz and a choice of either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB GPU or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 485M 2.0GB graphics processing unit.

The device also supports up to 16GB of DDR3 1333MHz Corsair Memory, while storage is provided by an array of OCZ SSDs and Western Digital HDDs.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to mention that the computing system features a LED Backlit X-Glass display (Full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution supported), THX True Studio Pro certified speakers with sub-woofers and an 8-cell battery pack that delivers more than two hours of functioning time.

The second machine unveiled by Kobalt Computers is the G170 model, that offers roughly the same specifications as the G150, but packs more desktop space, given the fact that it comes with a 17.3-inch display.

As expected, pricing for these new Sandy Bridge notebooks is pretty high, the G150 starting out somewhere in the vicinity of 1,199 pounds sterling (including VAT), while the G170 is quite obviously a bit more expensive, starting at around 1,249 pounds sterling (including VAT).
