South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung announced not to long ago the work on its own operating system for mobile phones, a platform that was officially unveiled on December 8 as the Samsung bada OS. A series of details on the new mobile client already made it into the wild, along with some screenshots with the platform, and now a new batch of shots emerged into the wild, as well as a presentation of the technical features of bada, which has just been posted on the official website of the platform.

“On 8th December, we had the bada Launch Ceremony, providing two sessions: an afternoon session for the press and an evening session for partners, content and service providers for bada platform. The vision, features and support for the ecosystem of Samsung bada were presented at the event. Without doubt, more than 100 journalists and bloggers and 200 bada partners who attended the ceremony showed strong interests and high expectations toward the future that bada will bring to Samsung customers,” Samsung notes on the website.

The new screenshots with the platform show that users will be able to enjoy a touch-friendly solution from the mobile phone maker, something that might have been expected already, considering the good work Samsung made with the user interface present on its Windows Mobile and Android-based handsets. On the downside, as samsunghub notes, it seems that the operating system does not come around with support for multi-tasking, which might be a party breaker in the end.

According to Samsung, bada-powered phones will come with a one application policy, which means that, as soon as one app is launched, the already running one will be terminated. However, there are some apps that will run in the background, mainly those involving the communications capabilities of the bada device. Take a look at the shots below to make an idea on the platform, and also head over to the bada website to see the video from Samsung, so as to learn a few more details on bada's technical features.
