Last week we told you that Samsung was working on new tablets, including models that are codenamed SM-T35x/SM-T55x and SM-P35x/SM-P55x.

A few days ago we couldn't tell you much about the specs of these new devices, but today a report coming from Sam Mobile sheds a little bit of light on that.

Apparently, Sammy’s new slates will boasts a 4:3 aspect ratio similar to what we currently see on the Nexus 9 and Apple iPad.

More than that, the SM-T35x and SM-P35x will probably arrive with 8-inch displays, while the SM-T55x and SM-P55x will boast 9.7-inch screens.

All these new models should draw life from a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset.

At this point, it seems quite likely that the SM-T35x and SM-T55x are actually the successors to the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, while the SM-P35x and SM-P55x might be new, mid-range Galaxy Note models.

A few weeks before CES 2015, we saw a Galaxy Note 8.4 model leak online, but it seemed to us that the device was of the premium variety.

The tablet wasn't launched in Las Vegas, so maybe it will actually be part of Sammy’s new lineup. We expect all the new slates coming under the banner of the Korean tech giant to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
