Vietnam is historically known as the country where one of the most brutal and high-stake international wars happened between 1959–1975. It was a prosy war that, in turn, was part of the Cold War, in a sense.

Now, though, Vietnam's status has changed on the international level, and the economy has, likewise, recovered somewhat.

In fact, Samsung decided that Vietnam was a good region for a new mobile phone plant. The company held the groundbreaking ceremony just this week.

The plant will eat up to around $2 billion (1.56 billion Euro) and will reach full production capacity in 2015, making 120 million mobile devices a year.

It is located in Yen Binh Industrial Park in Thai Nguyen city and is the second plant in Vietnam. The other one already makes 120 million units annually.
