The first half of the next year should bring to the market a new flagship smartphone from Samsung Electronics, supposedly set to feature the name of Galaxy S5, although no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

There have been a lot of rumors on this device until now, suggesting all kinds of hardware capabilities and design changes for it, but we’re still uncertain how exactly the phone will look like.

A newly published Galaxy S5 concept phone, however, appears set to bring some light into the matter, yet this is nothing more than the product of an enthusiast’s imagination.

The new concept device comes from Hasan Kaymak and, as concept-phones notes, it might have been influenced by the designer’s experience with HTC handsets.

The phone features a metallic body with a physical home button beneath the screen, as well as with speakers placed both at the top and at the bottom. Moreover, it comes with a flat front panel, with sharp edges, though the back is slightly curved.

On the back, the concept device shows a large camera sensor with Xenon flash, but no fingerprint sensor can be seen there. This is not surprising, considering that Samsung was previously rumored to include eye tracking technology inside the smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 concept phone also comes with a new flavor of the TouchWiz user interface, namely version 5, the designer notes on Google+.

Given that HTC is already using a similar design pattern on its current smartphones, there’s little chance that Samsung would adopt it for its phones as well, yet this concept is highly appealing, that’s for sure.

Samsung might be set to make the Galaxy S5 official sometime around the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, so stay tuned to learn more on what the phone will actually feature. In the meantime, have a look at the photos available with this concept and let us know what you think of it.
