South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is expected to come to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month with successor for its Android-based Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, one that might be launched on shelves as the Samsung Galaxy S 2, and a few more details on this device emerged recently.

The smartphone already made it to the headlines a few time before, and the new leak seems to confirm most of the hardware specifications that were known on it, while bringing some more of them to the spotlight.

What is allegedly known so far on this smartphone would include a screen that is at least 4.3-inches in size, since Samsung is testing a device with a 4.5-inch screen as well. Specific info on which of these device would be the Samsung Galaxy S 2 lacks at the moment.

Moreover, it seems that the handset might indeed arrive on shelves with a dual-core application processor inside, only that it would be a CPC from Samsung themselves, caller Orion.

Rumor has it that both aforementioned models would be dual core, one clocked in at 1 GHz, while the other running at 1.2 GHz.

Other specifications of this device would include a Super Amoled Plus screen, along with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, SamFirmware notes in a recent article.

The handset should arrive with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash and, most probably, HD video recording capabilities, as well as with a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calling.

Among the other specifications of the upcoming mobile phone, we can count 3.5mm head phone jack, NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities, and microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space.

Samsung already confirmed plans to bring the new device to the floor at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but none of the leaked specs on this handset has been confirmed so far, and we'll have to wait for the official announcement to be made to learn more on it.
