The accessory will supplement the Galaxy S5 smartphone and will better monitor you

Just a few days ago, I learned that Samsung was preparing a new Galaxy Gear smartwatch, one that, hopefully, would do better than the first one. Now I have confirmation.

When talking to Bloomberg, Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile arm, said that the Galaxy Gear that would accompany the Galaxy S5 smartphone this spring would have more advanced features.

Most notably, it will have more health-related assets, like checking calorie consumption, heart rate monitoring, stress level measurement, etc.

These will come in addition to an image makeover, but the company isn't saying anything about that yet. Most likely, we have to wait until the end of February for more, since that's what the Mobile World Congress will happen (24-27 February, 2014).

The Samsung VP said that health-care functions would be a big part of wearables in the future. I suppose that means they're starting early.
