One of the three new co-CEOs had some rather harsh words for Microsoft

No one expected Windows 8 to become a repeat of Windows Vista, and there is room to argue that it received a better welcome, all things considered.

Still, seemingly all IT players and analysts are in agreement that Microsoft's operating system fell greatly short of expectations.

One of the people who is distinctly unimpressed with the OS is JK Shin, the Samsung mobile communications president and also one of the three co-CEOs.

He answered some questions by The Wall Street Journal and deliberately downplayed one about Samsung's relationship with Microsoft.

“Smartphones and tablets based on Microsoft's Windows operating system aren't selling very well. There is a preference in the market for Android. In Europe, we're also seeing lackluster demand for Windows-based products,” he said.

It looks like Samsung will stick to Android for the time being.
