Verizon has just announced the availability of the educational application Net Safety Tips On The Go as part of the National Internet Safety Month

The Android application is now available in V CAST Apps and it was developed by Google in collaboration with Verizon.

Net Safety Tips On The Go provides critical online privacy, security and youth online safety educational messages to help the carrier's customers protect their privacy, families and finances when using their Android smartphones.

The application offers users tips about mobile privacy and mobile safety, including how constant texting and talking can affect customers sleep, concentration, work and school.

Users will be able to set the frequency for receiving new tips including one per day, per week or whenever they choose.

Furthermore, those installing the software will receive information on how customers can protect themselves against fraud, phishing, ID theft and general password-protecting suggestions.

In addition, advices and tips for social networking privacy, sharing locations and surfing the Web privately are also provided by the application.

When it comes to family safety, Net Safety Tips On The Go offers tips for parents and children on social media tactics, cyber bullying, reputation, privacy and unwanted contact.

Other tips provided by the application include: tips on protecting data, managing apps and tips to help customers become real digital citizens, such as advising customers to never post anything to any site that they would not want to see on the front page of a newspaper.

Net Safety Tips On The Go is available to Verizon Wireless customers through V CAST Apps.

Additionally, customers can find and download a wide range of games, productivity tools, entertainment and news apps from V CAST Apps.

However, customers who do not have access to Verizon's V CAST Apps can also download Net Safety Tips On The Go via Android Market for free.
