Apple is offering new betas of Safari 7.0.3 (for OS X Mavericks) and Safari 6.1.3 (for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion) for testing with the same focus areas as before, bringing the two versions of the browser closer to their public release.

The Cupertino giant reportedly tells developers enrolled with the company’s annual seeding program that Safari 6.1.3 for Lion requires OS X 10.7.5 with Security Update 2013-002, while Safari 6.1.3 for Mountain Lion can only be installed on systems with OS X 10.8.5.

As for Safari 7.0.3, this version goes onto Mavericks installations and requires OS X 10.9.2. The updated browser is included in OS X 10.9.3, which is also in internal beta testing.

Safari 7.0.3 and Safari 6.1.3 share the same focus areas. Developers are told to focus testing on general website compatibility, Safari Push Notifications (a new feature introduced in 2013), login AutoFill, credit card AutoFill (OS X Mavericks only), and extension compatibility.

As usual, Apple tells developers, “This build is being provided to you for testing and development purposes. Should you encounter any problems, please submit a bug report using the online Bug Reporter at http://bugreporter.apple.com/.” Developers with a paid account can download the new Safari seeds from the Mac Dev Center.
