Kingmax has just released new Nano Gaming RAM and computer solid-state drives, but we'll be looking at them separately, starting with the SSDs.

There are three new collections of SSDs, called SME Xvalue, SMU32 Client Pro and SMU35 Client Pro.

They can go as high as 240 GB but, more importantly, can move data at up to 550 MB/s.

Speaking of performance, the 4K random performance is of 85,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second).

The SME Xvalue is the low-cost drive series, while the prices go progressively higher for the others. The difference is reflected in the specifications.

The SMP32/SMP35 are especially suited for gamers, according to Kingmax, though the 60 GB drives probably won't be much good on their own, so you'll have to at least consider hybrid storage setups involving SSD caching.

Sadly, Kingmax didn't actually provide the prices of its new solid-state drives, so I can't say if the affordability (or lack thereof) is as the company promises. Ultimately, you'll have to check with online and/or street retailers yourself.

Do keep in mind, though, that there can be a pretty big difference between read and write performance. The 240 GB SM35 works at 550 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write, but the SMA Xvalue works at 540 MB/s and 300 MB/s, respectively.
