BenQ-Siemens has announced a new luxurious handset - the SL80.

The device is more than just a mobile phone. The compact yet elegant slider phone with the eye-catching radiant mauve color sets users apart from the crowd.

The BenQ-Siemens SL80 is the successor of the SL75 - winner of the iF design award in 2006. The slider phone fulfils up to date technological demands. Because of the particularly smooth operation of the semi-automatic slider mechanism (ProSlide), the mobile phone is very convenient to handle in every situation of day-to-day life. The large and brilliant display features the exclusive ''Exotic Flowers'' theme that completes the mauve sensation.

With an integrated megapixel camera, built-in photolight and digital zoom, the BenQ-Siemens SL80 also functions as a high-performance camera mobile for spontaneous snapshots. Short movie sequences can also be recorded equally simply. The integrated media player supports all popular audio formats. An organizer for appointments, tasks and notes is on board, along with a clearly organized address book that displays all telephone numbers at a glance.

Thanks to the PictBridge function, photos can be transmitted directly from the mobile to a Bluetooth photo printer wirelessly. Moreover, the slender triband mobile can also be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth to all kinds of practical accessories.

The BenQ-Siemens SL80 will be on retail sale from October 2006 in an exclusive mauve colored packaging. Prices will be determined locally.
