Super Talent Technology, a worldwide leading manufacturer of Flash storage devices and memory modules, announced yesterday the addition of two new SSD solutions to its MasterDrive family. The drives are stated to deliver dramatically increased performance over existing SSDs. According to Super Talent, the new MasterDrive OX models can reach 150 MB/s read and 100 MB/s write speeds, while the new PX drives offer up to 170 MB/s read and 130 MB/s write speeds.

The new SSD drives include a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface and feature access times of just 0.1 ms, along with integrated wear leveling and bad bit management algorithms and ECC. The core of the drives is the sophisticated new multi-channel SATA-II controller. The MasterDrive OX series includes 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models, while the PX series comes in 32GB and 64GB flavors.

“In this, our third generation of SATA SSDs, we’ve taken performance to incredible new heights, with sustained read and write speeds that will leave any hard disk drive in the dust. At the same time, our MasterDrive SSDs are among the most cost effective solid state storage solutions available,” said Joe James, Super Talent Director of Marketing.

The new drive series features, besides the 0.1ms access time, an operating temperature ranging from 0C to 70C and comes in the 2.5-inch form factor. The company offers a one-year warranty for the OX models and a three-year warranty for the PX. The OX drives are also offered as an SSD kit bundled with the company's external eSATA/USB case. The 128GB MasterDrive OX is said to reach the market this week at an expected price tag of $419.

Super Talent has always used leading-edge components to develop award winning products which offer outstanding reliability. The new drives also pack state-of-the-art technologies which allow them to provide leveraged speed and performance levels. The MasterDrive OX uses MLC NAND Flash for data transfer, whereas the MasterDrive PX features SLC NAND Flash, allowing it to deliver the best possible reliability and endurance along with tremendous speed.
